From Trendy Palermo Viejo to Nolita & Queens/ De Trendy Palermo Viejo a Nolita y Queens
I never thought I would live in the US someday. It wasn’t my dream, it just happened. However, I always thought it would be great to have my store in New York City and promote the works of so many talented Argentine artists, designers and craftsmen. It was like an impossible dream, something that I have always thought of, knowing that it would never occur…until two Saturdays ago.
As I mentioned in a previous post, my husband has been living here for many years and it simply happened. We got married and now I am living in the US. So, a couple of Saturdays ago, I had my first event at The Market NYC, a designers market in the heart of Nolita (North of Little Italy), next to Soho. I participated with a table and a few pieces of jewelry, from Palermo Viejo to Nolita.
It was an awesome experience. I was very excited. Now, more than ever, I can feel very proud of Argentine designers and their talent and creativity, since I felt everything fit perfectly. For a few moments, I thought I was in my store in BA, talking with customers from Spain, Belgium or Australia. Like in Palermo Viejo, there were local visitors and from abroad. Whenever I saw someone with the Lonely Planet in their hands, I wanted to shout: “Hey, LP recommends my products in Buenos Aires!” Then, I realized I was in another city.
But which was my favorite moment of the day? Well, of course when I started selling (that’s the purpose of participating in a market as a vendor), but what really made my day was meeting Paul and Luis, two new yorkers, readers of this blog, who came to the market to meet me. They showed me their real appreciation. Thank you, guys, for your warm compliments. It was wonderful talking with you. You really gave me the inspiration to continue blogging again so here I am. I’m so happy that I’m already planning my next post.
I’m also taking this opportunity to let you know that this Saturday I’ll be again at The Market NYC in Nolita from 11 AM to 7 PM and this Sunday, at the Astoria Market, (at the Main Hall of the famous Bohemian Hall & Beer Garden), in Queens, from 12 to 5 PM.

Saludos
